About the Role

The ServiceNow Developer is responsible to design and develop/implement ServiceNow solutions. Provide technical & architectural guidance to high performing peers. This role will work with the Systems and Service Management leadership, IT service owners, process owners and various service delivery groups to develop technical solutions that satisfy the business needs of the bank to a high quality.

Build technical solutions based on user stories & requirements

Deliver solutions using Agile software development processes

Understand the current “as is processes” and deliver toolset changes as required

Customisation or development of enhancement requests for existing ITSM/ITOM tools and processes

Take care of end to end development activities for a specific enhancement, defect fixes or project as an individual contributor

Work closely with BA’s, Architects, Testing team, Support and process teams

Work closely with vendor resources to meet development deadlines in case of larger projects

Requirements

  • Has good hands on development knowledge with strong scripting/ coding knowledge on ServiceNow.

  • Has good knowledge of ITIL, ITSM & ITOM processes

  • Hands on development experience with ServiceNow

  • Provide software coding and customization

  • Obtain and analyze/interpret business requirements to purpose sustainable solutions in ServiceNow.

  • Exposure to the key modules like Incident/Problem/Change, CMDB, Asset, in ServiceNow is required

  • Hands on serviceNow development and JavaScript

  • Know how to configure Flow/ workflow

  • Working knowledge on integrations

  • Experience with Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, etc)

  • Working experience in ServiceNow Discovery (Preferable, not essential )

  • Ability to interface and develop with Java/J2EE backend technologies

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, SSO

  • Working knowledge of web applications, networks, protocols and email (SMTP, POP3)

  • Clearly defines the purpose of formal discussions (e.g. via one-on-ones, group meetings)

  • Holds working knowledge in concepts and practices of delivery:

  • Clear knowledge of project lifecycles and can describe major phases and milestones within a project

  • Can identify common types of risks / issues and where project dependencies exist; maintains simple RAID


  • Holds working knowledge in concepts and practices of Leadership

  • Develops presentations to influence others

  • Contributes to and encourages ideas; builds on suggestions of others, leads by example

  • Inspires confidence by making and honouring commitments; demonstrates competence

  • Holds working knowledge in concepts and practices of Management is a plus:

  • Can identify and map stakeholders of the project

  • Experienced in working in a team, creating and managing project plans and coordinating others

  • Able to identify priorities and adapt as needed

  • Manages time well and deliver user stories within estimated times
